Andrée-Anne pleads regularly before the higher courts and administrative tribunals. She has extensive experience in health law, professional liability and disciplinary law. Her experience includes litigation involving the Consumer Protection Act.

Here are some examples of the cases Andrée-Anne has been involved in:

  • She participated in the successful defence of a healthcare company in the first pharmaceutical product liability class action trial in Canada. In that recent case, the plaintiffs claimed that the pharmaceutical company failed in its duty to warn and was responsible for the psychiatric effects that group members experienced after taking an antibiotic. The action was dismissed by the Superior Court. The Court of Appeal dismissed the plaintiffs’ appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada refused to hear the appeal.
  • She was part of the team that obtained a discontinuance for a healthcare company before the hearing on an application for leave to bring a class action in respect of damages allegedly caused by surgical meshes.
  • She successfully defended a number of members of the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) in professional liability actions before the Court of Québec, the Superior Court and the Court of Appeal.

Andrée-Anne earned her bachelor’s degree in law (LL. B.) from Université Laval in 2007 and made the Dean’s List.

She is an executive committee member of the Women Lawyers Forum of the Canadian Bar Association.
