Joannie Marcoux is an associate in the Tax Group in Montreal. Her practice covers all areas of Canadian and international tax law, including tax planning, tax reorganizations or restructurings (whether or not in connection with mergers and acquisitions), trusts and investment funds.

Prior to joining McCarthy Tétrault, Joannie worked in the corporate tax group of one of the world's largest professional services firms, where she played an important role in supporting tax planning and reorganization, Canadian tax compliance (preparation and review of tax returns, tax forms and information returns) and writing tax opinions.

Joannie obtained her Bachelor of Law from Université de Sherbrooke in 2019, as well as her Master of Law – Tax Option from HEC Montréal in 2021. During her studies, she received several mentions for academic excellence. In 2018, Joannie also completed a graduate microprogram in Business Management at the Université de Sherbrooke.

Joannie was called to the Quebec Bar in 2022. Joannie is a member of the Young Bar of Montréal, the Association de planification fiscale et financière and the Canadian Tax Foundation.
