Mira Ortved is counsel in our Real Property, Planning and Projects Groups in Toronto. She maintains a general real estate practice with a focus on major infrastructure projects.

Valued for her in depth real estate expertise, informed by a history of high-volume practice spanning the spectrum of real estate activity, Mira represents clients through all stages of progressive infrastructure project development. This includes strategic thinking on approaches to land development, the acquisition and disposition of real property, synchronizing project development priorities with land use planning requirements, documenting the continuum of design build approaches to project delivery, project financing, procurement and auction models, merger and acquisitions, development and project agreements and maintenance and operation contracting across health care, long-term care, transportation, housing, education, energy, water/wastewater and utility asset classes in both the public and private spheres.

Coupled with her real estate expertise, Mira brings a commercial lens to infrastructure project development from a wealth of corporate commercial transactional and governance related experience.

With a collaborative approach to everything she does, from contracting strategies to project team operations, Mira thrives at finding common ground among stakeholders in the project delivery process to get results.

Mira completed her BA with Honours at Dalhousie University and her JD at Queen’s University. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2012.

Throughout her career Mira has been active in her community. She currently serves on the board of several organizations delivering community supports, from publicly funded community living to advocacy to small business financing.
