On May 2, 2023, Desjardins completed C$350 million in financing to Alliance de l'Énergie de l'Est in its efforts to build and operate wind farms in Quebec.

Alliance de l'Énergie de l'Est is a coalition of 209 municipal and Indigenous governments representing 16 regional county municipalities in eastern Quebec and the Magdalen Islands. It's a singular initiative that's helping Québec communities invest in wind farming via requests for proposals from Hydro-Québec.

Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec (FCDQ), headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, is a component of the Desjardins Group, the largest federation of credit unions in North America.

McCarthy Tétrault advised FCDQ with a team led by Jacob Stone that included Etienne Guertin, Elena Drouin (Business), Nicolas Cloutier (Tax), and Jean-Jerry Anty (Financial Services).
